Ballroom dancing is an exciting and rewarding adventure. And like all worthwhile endeavors, getting started is the hardest part. At Arthur Murray Lincolnshire Dance Center, you will find a welcoming environment where you’ll feel comfortable learning every move. To help you prepare for lessons at Arthur Murray, we’ve gathered a few ballroom dance lesson tips.
Prepare for your lesson with clothes that make movement easy and comfortable. Wear shoes that will stay on your feet and allow you to dance with ease of movement. Don’t wear grippy shoes with rubber soles because they will impede your movement. Choose lightweight clothing that won’t obstruct your mobility. Wear clothes that make you feel like dancing.
Because your team of Arthur Murray dance instructors will serve as your primary guides through the exciting world of dance, it’s important to communicate. Don’t hesitate to speak up about how you feel about your lessons. This way we can teach you in the most fun and efficient way. Let your instructor know if the lesson is going too fast or too slow for you. We will always tailor your dance experience to suit your skill level and comfort.
Taking group dance lessons? Talking with fellow students will enhance your Arthur Murray experience. Beyond helping you make friends, communicating – and dancing – with other dancers will improve your dancing and accelerate your learning.
